5 October 2009. 1st day in Aruba Part 2

After lunch we both had a nap and then walked down the beach towards the kite surfers. There was not as much activity today as the wind was not as good.

Speaking of the trade winds, they are so constant that the distinctive devi devi trees so typical of Aruba are bent to a 45 degree angle by the wind.

Then we dressed for dinner and headed off to the da Vinci restaurant. The menu looked promising. However, Jerry was not pleased with his steak and I was not pleased with my grouper which was swimming in olive oil and was a very thin slice. However the Brazilian ice cream was quite good.

We now think we can get to the Arashi Beach and its coral reef by taxi. Since we have only one set of snorkeling gear we will investigate renting another tomorrow. We also are hoping to take a bus into  Oranjestad. It will be our last day in an exotic Caribbean location

    Gary,

I’m glad that at least the ice cream was good-
Hope you find another set of snorkeling gear. I take it you can post to your blog, but not e-mail.

Three days until you are home! Yippee!

    Love, Jan

I agree with Jan, I will be happy to have Jerry home! Hope he is ready for frost!

BTW I tried to get him to pack his face mask and fins but there was a space limitation!

    love,
    donna
